Court lists challenge for 4 February; Justice Kant calls it court vs legislature
A bench of Justices Surya Kant, Dipankar Datta and Ujjal Bhuyan fixed 4 February 2025 after Prashant Bhushan pointed out CEC Rajiv Kumar would retire on 18 February and a successor would be picked under the new law. Justice Kant said the case was a contest between the court's opinion and legislative power.
