Neta·ResumeRahul Gandhi dissented: Asked that the decision wait for the Supreme Court hearing two days later, objected to the Chief Justice's removal from the panel in a dissent note, and did not take part in further proceedings. He published the note the next day.
An analysis argued this dissent differs from past ones: in 2009 CEC N Gopalaswami recommended removing EC Navin Chawla, which the government rejected; in 2019 EC Ashok Lavasa sought recording of his minority MCC views. Here, it said, the two-member majority recorded that decisions were taken without them.
