CJI Sanjiv Khanna recuses from challenge to the Act

Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, sitting with Justice Sanjay Kumar, recused from hearing the petitions and directed listing before another bench in the week of 6 January 2025. The bench asked the Union and the Election Commission to file responses.

Petitioners' counsel said they had no objection to him hearing it. No reason is recorded in the reports.
