Supreme Court dismisses ADR's challenge to Arun Goel's appointment

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and S.V.N. Bhatti declined to entertain ADR's petition against Goel's appointment, saying the Constitution Bench had examined the file and passed no order against him. Justice Khanna said the Baranwal judgment was prospective. In April 2023 Justice K.M. Joseph had recused from hearing the same petition.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that in constitutional appointments the file consistently moves in a day. The order itself was not opened; LiveLaw links it.
