Opposition submits first-ever notices to remove a CEC in both Houses

Opposition MPs submitted notices of motion to remove CEC Gyanesh Kumar in the Lok Sabha (130 signatures) and Rajya Sabha (63), invoking Article 324(5), Section 11(2) of the 2023 Act and the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968. The seven charges included 'proven misbehaviour', partisan conduct and mass disenfranchisement through SIR, and the notice called the selection process flawed, citing Rahul Gandhi's dissent note.
