Twenty-three opposition parties and independent MP Kapil Sibal wrote jointly to Chief Justice Surya Kant alleging manipulated elections and partisan conduct by the Commission and the CEC, and seeking judicial attention to the SIR. Signatories included Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. Jairam Ramesh made it public on 30 June.
