The Supreme Court ordered that electors flagged for 'logical discrepancies' be listed with brief reasons at panchayat, taluka, sub-division and ward offices, and be given ten days to submit documents or objections and be heard. The order arose from Tamil Nadu but the court expected compliance in every state where SIR was under way.
