The Commission formally launched ECINET, integrating more than 40 apps and portals, and said it had been built in full compliance with the Constitution, the RP Acts and the election rules. It said the platform had processed over 10 crore registration forms and digitised over 150 crore SIR documents. The roll-management system ERONet sits within it.
The Indian Express reports that in the months after launch, statutory roll officers in several states said their access to the roll on ECINET/ERONet was restricted by the IT division in Delhi (see 2026-08-14 entry). PN/008/2026 also says ECINET was "envisaged by" the CEC along with Election Commissioners Sandhu and Joshi, and records Sandhu speaking in its favour at the launch.
