The Central Government brought the Act into force from 2 January 2024 by notification S.O. 35(E) of the same date, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary.
Commencement footnote in the India Code text; the Union's reply recorded in the Supreme Court's 22 March 2024 order also states the Act took effect on 2 January 2024. The Gazette itself was not opened.
