West Bengal's CEO reported 31,68,426 draft electors with no mapping. By 8 January 2026 notices had been delivered to 25,60,476 of them and 7,25,899 hearings completed. The same note said electors aged 85 and over, sick or disabled need not attend in person if they or a family member ask the ERO, with verification at home instead; electors temporarily abroad were exempted and could send a family member.
