Uttar Pradesh's draft roll of 6 January 2026 listed 12,55,56,025 electors against 15,44,30,092 on the existing roll, leaving out 2.89 crore (18.70%). The reported reasons: 46.23 lakh found dead, 2.17 crore not found by BLOs (absent or shifted), and 25.47 lakh enrolled in more than one place.
PTI's 11 April 2026 tally (see phase2-final-tally) gives 25.47 lakh as the number of deceased electors removed in UP, the same figure Akashvani gives for multiple enrolments; one of the two uses appears to be an error, and the CEO UP press note was not opened to settle it.
