The Indian Express reported that since June 2025 the SIR had struck more than 13 crore names off draft rolls in 30 States and UTs. Adding the figures in this file (Bihar 65 lakh, Phase II 6.57 crore across 12 States/UTs, Phase III 6.15 crore across 17) gives about 13.37 crore across 30 States/UTs, which is consistent. This counts names left out at the draft stage, before claims, notices and additions; it is not the net fall in the rolls.
The 13.37 crore figure is our own addition of the state and tally figures cited elsewhere in this file (Gujarat and Andaman & Nicobar rounded; Rajasthan excludes Anta; Bihar rounded to the lakh); the checker recomputed it as 13,36,84,385. It excludes Assam's Special Revision and Nagaland and Tripura, whose Phase III drafts were due 20 September and 21 October. ECI has not published a national total that we could find. Madhyamam/IANS (24 Sep 2026) reports that ECI disputed the reports of an internal split and said its decisions were unanimous; that ECI statement itself was not opened, and whether it addressed the 13 crore figure is not confirmed. Net falls are smaller: Bihar about 47.8 lakh and Phase II about 5.18 crore (PTI), with Phase III finals mostly pending.
